How many first aid officers do we require in a finance office in South Australia?

Every workplace must have a first aider; even in a low-risk environment as the WHS regulations impose an obligation to provide ‘adequate’ numbers of first aiders.

The Safe Work Australia Code of Practice: First aid in the workplace provides a quota for ‘low-risk workplaces’. An office is a low-risk workplace for the purposes of the Code of Practice.

The code recommends one first aider for every 50 workers in a low-risk workplace. This is the minimum requirement and it is beneficial to have more trained if possible.
