Q
We have a worker who refuses to sign our revised safe work method statements (SWMSs), even though he signed the original documents. How do we deal with this situation?

A
You would need to understand why the worker will not sign the SWMSs. It is important that workers sign the amended SWMSs to acknowledge they understand them.

You should explain to the worker that it is necessary for the protection of all persons involved in the work that they acknowledge they have read and understood the amended SWMSs. A failure to sign could also be a failure to comply with a lawful and reasonable direction.
