Company hit with $70,000 fine after worker suffers hit to the head

The Case

WHS Queensland v Campion Education (Aust) Pty Ltd (2022)

In February 2021, a casual worker who had been employed for 3 months at the Campion Education warehouse was operating a forklift and loading empty pallets on a racking system when a number of unsecured pallets fell from a height of nearly 6 metres, hitting the top of the worker’s head. The worker suffered a fractured skull and was hospitalised.
