Apprentice dies in workplace incident after only 18 days on the job

On 15 January 2020, an 18-year-old apprentice working at a KML Auto Electrics workshop died of mechanical asphyxia while working beneath a cabin of a truck that was in a raised position. While undertaking work on the truck, the apprentice accidentally contacted the lever, which caused the stay arm to release the cabin, which fell directly on top of him.
